What to Do When Rose Leaves Develop Black Spots? Effective Control Methods to Teach You

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
It develops black spots because it has contracted black spot disease, which generally occurs mostly on plants in the Rosaceae family. Spots first appear on the edges of the leaves, then spread to the upper surface of the leaves, and finally the lesions join together, causing the branches and leaves to drop. It spreads mainly by means of spores, and it is most likely to occur in hot, especially rainy seasons. If it is in the early stage of the disease, remove the diseased branches and leaves and burn them in a centralized manner; if the situation is serious, chemical treatment is needed.

I. Causes

1. If it has developed black spots, then it has definitely been attacked by the black spot fungus. This disease mainly affects the leaves, branches and flower stems. Spots often grow on the upper surface of the leaves, and at first they grow on the edges of the leaves.

2. At first the spots are purplish black, then their diameter reaches 1.3-1-5 mm and the color becomes darker. Around the lesions there will be yellow halos, and finally these lesions join together, causing the branches to drop.

3. This fungus mostly harms plants in the Rosaceae family and spreads by spores. If there is water on the leaves, it can invade the leaves within six hours and then repeatedly break down. The disease can be contracted throughout the entire growing season. It is especially prevalent in hot, rainy times; the plum rain season and November are the peak periods.

II. Reasons for Infection

The most important factor causing the leaves to contract this disease is dampness. This disease has a chance of occurring all year round, especially in hot and rainy times. It forms small black dots on the leaves, and later most of the leaves will drop. The fallen leaves contain divided spores, and if they are not cleaned up immediately, it will keep becoming infected.

III. Treatment Methods

1. If it is discovered in the early stage of the disease, immediately remove the diseased branches and leaves, and they must not be thrown directly into the soil; burn them in a centralized manner to cut off the source of the disease.

2. If the situation is very serious, use pesticides such as miepailin for control, or use thiophanate for treatment.

3. In ordinary care, pay attention to the moisture of the soil, provide ventilation, and do not sprinkle water directly onto the leaves; in this way it can be well prevented.
