What to do when rose leaves wilt? Find the cause and treat it accordingly
I. Solutions
1. If it is a newly purchased seedling, its root system has not yet fully developed at this point, and placing it directly in the sun will easily make it wilt. In this case, remove the wilted leaves, water it thoroughly, and just let it recover.
2. Plastic pots easily suffer from poor drainage, especially during consecutive rainy days, when the roots find it hard to breathe and the leaves wilt. At this point you can dig it out and replant it in a new pot, preferably an breathable clay pot.
3. When it has just been bought, especially for plants about to bloom, the nutrients in the roots are insufficient and can only be supplied to the flowers; the leaves do not get the nutrients they need and wilt. After it blooms, cut back some of the branches, leaving just two heads per pot.
II. How to better care for it in daily life
1. Temperature and humidity
The most suitable temperature for it during the day is 15-26°C, and at night 10-15°C. In winter, if it drops below 5°C, it will enter dormancy, though some varieties can even endure cold of -15°C and heat of 35°C. In summer, if the temperature stays above 30°C, it will enter a semi-dormant state, which will make its growth poor; even if it can bloom, the flowers will be very small, with few petals and poor color.
2. Light
It likes areas with light, and during its growing season it needs sufficient light, at least six hours of sun every day; otherwise it will only grow leaves and not bloom, and even if it does bloom, the flowers will not be brightly colored or strongly fragrant.
3. Watering
It does not like too much water, so do not let a lot of water accumulate in the pot, otherwise the roots can easily rot. The amount of water given varies by season; in spring, when its branches and leaves are sprouting, increase the water. In the heat of summer, water it once a day, and water when the surface of the soil turns white; in winter, just keep the soil slightly moist.
