Flowers & Gardening 0 views
If its leaves turn red, it may be a normal phenomenon; red leaves indicate that the flowers are also of the red series. It may also turn red due to rust disease, in which case the diseased branches and leaves should be removed and the wounds wrapped tightly. It may also be due to powdery mildew, which requires alternating treatments such as chlorothalonil. In addition, if it is due to red spider mites, we can buy a specialized insecticide to remove them.

I. Physiological Reasons

Some varieties of this plant are simply like this; their leaves turn red naturally. You can identify its variety by its leaves; if its newly grown leaves are red, it means its flowers will also be a similar color series.

II. Rust Disease

1. Symptoms

If its leaves turn red, another possibility is that it has rust disease.

2. Solutions

Clean up the surrounding area, remove the diseased branches, leaves and buds, and burn them together. Wrap the wounds with plastic film to prevent bacterial erosion and help the wounds heal faster. If it is kept indoors, make sure it has good ventilation and a dry environment.

III. Powdery Mildew

1. Symptoms

If its leaves curl and turn red, then it has powdery mildew; white powder appears on the undersides of the leaves, the leaves curl, and even new shoots may wither and die. The flowers cannot bloom on time, or the flowers will not look attractive.

2. Solutions

If you apply medication during its growing period in spring, you can alternate thiophanate and chlorothalonil. During the onset of the disease, you can treat it with methyl thiophanate; once the white powdery substance in the diseased area turns gray, the disease is almost cured.

IV. Red Spider Mites

1. Symptoms

If there are red things on the leaves, it is because red spider mites have appeared.

2. Solutions

You can buy a specialized insecticide for plants on the market and spray it on the front and back of the leaves and on the branches, spraying 3-4 times in a row over 3-4 weeks to remove the pests on it. Generally, when kept at home, ventilation is not very good, so pests and diseases occur very frequently; spray it with water often to maintain humidity and apply insecticide once a month.
