Reasons Why Gardenia Does Not Grow Flower Buds and Solutions
1. Fertilizer Problem
(1) Specific cause: At every stage of this plant's growth and development, fertilizer is very important. Sometimes, when applying fertilizer, we do not pay attention to its type and use too much that contains the N element, while very little contains P and K. Then the plant's stems and leaves grow very quickly, which is what we commonly call leggy growth. However, there are very few flower buds. Moreover, the flower buds that do form also easily fall off.
(2) Solution: Check the types of fertilizer used. If this is really the case, then you need to change the fertilizer and use more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.
2. Light Problem
(1) Specific cause: Light is essential for flower buds to form. If the plant is kept in a very dark place for a long time, the flower buds will be very small, and the whole plant will also look listless.
(2) Solution: Place it in a spot with scattered light and let it receive as much light as possible.
3. Root Problem
(1) Specific cause: If the roots have problems, then both the transport of nutrients and water will successively have problems. For example, if water accumulates in the pot, or the soil becomes compacted and has very poor aeration, all of these can cause flower buds to fail to form.
(2) Solution: Observe the condition of the soil. If there is too much water, water less and do not let water accumulate. If the soil is compacted, loosen the soil appropriately.
4. Temperature Problem
(1) Specific cause: Needless to say, the temperature must be suitable for flower buds to form. If it is too high or too low, it easily prevents flower buds from forming, or results in very few of them.
(2) Solution: Specifically, around 20 degrees is better, and it must not be too high.
