In flower care, yellowing leaves can sometimes be unavoidable. Many people do not know what causes the yellowing. Some use vinegar, some use beer, but can these really turn yellow leaves green again? Now there are many different opinions about the causes of yellowing leaves, but based on years of practical experience in growing flowers, the causes of yellowing flower leaves and the solutions are summarized as follows:

1. Lack of compound elements and trace elements in the soil. This situation mostly occurs when flowers are transplanted or repotted without using base fertilizer, resulting in nutrient deficiency. The lack of these nutrient elements and trace elements in the soil causes leaves to turn yellow. Therefore, when transplanting flowers or changing pots and soil, no matter what kind of soil is used, organic fertilizer must be used as base fertilizer. 2. Yellow leaves in flowers caused by soil acidification. Acidification means that after long-term weathering, the pH value of the soil decreases, forming acidic soil, which affects the activity of organisms in the soil, reduces the effectiveness of nutrients, and causes free manganese and aluminum ions to dissolve into the soil solution, inhibiting root development and producing toxic effects on flowers, leading to poor nutrition in the leaves and yellowing. Therefore, the soil used for growing flowers should be selected with high humus content; a large amount of organic matter can balance the soil structure. In addition, potted flowers should be repotted and given new soil after one to two years.

3. Excessive humidity. Many people who grow flowers are always afraid that the potting soil will dry out, so they keep the potting soil from drying day after day, leaving it in a wet state for a long time, which affects root respiration and nutrient absorption and causes leaves to turn yellow. The correct watering method is to water again when the surface layer of soil is dry. 4. Knowing only how to use chemical fertilizers while neglecting organic fertilizers, resulting in changes in soil structure, reduced looseness, poor air permeability, and decreased water absorption and nutrient absorption capacity. Therefore, flower fertilizer is only an auxiliary fertilizer for growing flowers, and the main fertilizer should be organic fertilizer.

5. Yellow leaves caused by inappropriate fertilization. Many flower growers, because they do not know how to fertilize flowers, often use too much or apply it to the roots, resulting in excess nutrients, poor root absorption, and yellow leaves. Therefore, fertilization must be done in the right amount and stopped in time. Do not use too much, and even more importantly, do not place it too close to the roots. 6. Damage from pests and diseases. When flowers suffer from pests and diseases, the chlorophyll in the leaf tissue is destroyed, and then leaf spot disease, yellow leaves, yellowing and falling off appear. Once discovered, chemical control should be used promptly.
