Garlic
Garlic has many benefits for growing flowers; it can disinfect, promote branch sprouting, and kill insects. Take mashed garlic, add 3 times its volume of water to dilute it, and smear it on the sprouting buds of osmanthus and wintersweet to make them sprout earlier. After treating branches affected by disease, smear mashed garlic on the wounds to prevent rot. Use garlic water at a concentration of 10% and spray it on the leaf surface to prevent and control flower powdery mildew.
Vinegar
The vast majority of flowers and plants prefer an acidic or weakly acidic environment, but in many places the flower soil and water are somewhat alkaline, which prevents plants from smoothly absorbing phosphorus and iron, causing leaves to turn yellow and yellowing disease to appear. This is especially true for acid-loving flowers such as gardenias and jasmine.
Use vinegar water diluted 500 times and water it once a week; this can improve the plant's growing environment and prevent and control yellowing disease.
When scale insect pests occur, you can dip a cotton swab in a little vinegar and dot it on the scale insects, making them easy to fall off and killing the eggs. Spraying plants' leaf surfaces with a 150-times vinegar dilution can prevent and control conditions such as rose powdery mildew and azalea black spot disease.
Baijiu
If compost at home smells strong, you can pour a little baijiu on it to reduce the smell of the compost.
Clivia sometimes shows symptoms of stunted growth; you can pour a small cup of baijiu around the edge of the Clivia pot to relieve the stunting, and it will grow new leaves and send up flower stalks. Be careful not to spill it on the leaf surface.
Chili pepper
Chili peppers have a very strong spicy taste, and facing heaven chili can be used to prevent and control insects. Take 50g of facing heaven chili, chop it up, add 500g of water, boil it, filter it, and spray it on leaf surfaces with insects; it has a preventive and controlling effect on pests such as aphids and red spiders.
Baking soda
Moisten a rag with baking soda water and wipe leaves with it; this can make the leaves of some large green plants full of luster.
Baking soda is weakly alkaline, so you can add a little to the water when watering flowers that like an alkaline environment, making an 800-times solution; it is suitable for flowers such as cacti that like a weakly alkaline environment.
White sugar
Sugar water is beneficial for plant rooting. Prepare white sugar water diluted ten times, insert the cuttings into the sugar water, and then do the cuttings; this can speed up the rooting rate of the cuttings.
