Fertilize your clivia this way, and it will grow plump, green and sturdy for a whole year without further feeding

Spring is the season when everything grows. Gardeners should fertilize their plants in good time, as this helps potted plants grow faster, makes the leaves greener and the blooms more brilliant. Clivia is certainly no exception, since it is itself a flower that loves fertilizer, so you need to feed it generously for it to grow better. Now let's see how an expert grower fertilizes.
1. Base fertilizer
Clivia is usually repotted every year in April or May. Adding a suitable amount of fertilizer as a base fertilizer when repotting is best for supplying clivia with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. We can add our own fermented nutrient soil or fertilizer to the bottom of the pot, such as soil mixed with Chinese herbal medicine residue, soil mixed with fruit peels, and poultry or animal manure such as chicken manure, sheep manure and so on. The prerequisite, of course, is that these fertilizers are fully fermented.
2. Liquid fertilizer
Liquid fertilizer is also very convenient to use, especially homemade organic liquid fertilizer, which not only causes no pollution but also helps clivia grow faster and healthier. Making liquid fertilizer at home is also very simple. We can collect the water used to rinse rice when cooking porridge at home, find a mineral water bottle, put the rice water inside, screw the cap on tightly and place it in the light. It will ferment in one or two weeks, and once fermentation is complete it can be used to water the flowers or spray the leaves.
3. Hole fertilizer method
This method is also very simple. We can first soak soybeans overnight and then boil them. After boiling, dig a shallow hole at the edge of the flower pot, put three to five soybeans in, and bury the cooked soybeans in the soil, where they will slowly release nitrogen and other elements, so that the clivia absorbs them and grows greener and plumper.
