The spring breeze blows gently and all things come back to life. Especially since April began, everywhere you look is dyed with vibrant colors, and everywhere you look is bright and beautiful.

However, although spring is the peak season for flowers to sprout and grow, you still must not be careless. If you do not pay more attention to the following pitfalls in daily care, your flowers will very likely wither and die in spring.

1. Beware of late spring cold

Late spring cold, as the name suggests, means that when the spring climate is gradually warming up, a sudden cold wave arrives. In this case, if you are not careful in taking precautions, plants may easily suffer from frost damage.

In recent days, large areas of the country have seen a temperature drop, and some regions have even dropped below 10 degrees, presenting an utterly chilly scene. To prevent the effects of late spring cold on plants, corresponding measures must be taken to reduce the adverse consequences of a sudden temperature drop on flowers.

For example, before the temperature drops, promptly move the flowers back indoors and place them in a warm and well-ventilated spot for care; if the flowers are affected by the spring cold and show signs of frost damage, timely watering, loosening the soil and keeping them warm can be taken as remedies.

If you do not want too much trouble, the editor suggests that when the temperature drops to around 10 degrees, spray some plant antifreeze on the flowers once a week, and using it two to three times in a row is enough.

2. Prevent sunscald

When the weather warms up, many people begin to move indoor plants outdoors or onto balconies for care. But one thing to note is that because the flowers have been kept indoors throughout the long winter and have depended on a dimmer environment, if they are suddenly exposed to sunlight, sunscald is inevitable.

To avoid sunlight burning the leaves, you must take a gradual approach so that the flowers slowly begin to adapt to environmental changes. Never try to accomplish it all at once.

You can first move the plants from a dark indoor spot to an indoor spot with a little sunlight for care, and after the flowers gradually adapt to the light, move them fully into an outdoor environment.

3. Avoid dryness

The dryness the editor refers to here is not dryness of the soil environment, but the degree of dryness of the plant surface. In spring, be sure to pay attention to the moisture level on the surface of the flowers to prevent the leaves from drying out and wilting.

Spring is the peak growing season for plants. Plants originally have an increased demand for water, and on top of that, as flowers move from indoor to outdoor care, under conditions of stronger light and greater wind, the evaporation rate of moisture on the plant surface becomes even faster.

So when caring for plants in spring, be sure to pay attention to the humidity of the surrounding environment. In daily care, regularly spray clean water on the surface of the plants. Especially in weather with ample sunlight and strong wind, you must ensure that the flower leaves remain moist.
