Geraniums planted in ordinary garden soil, yet they bloomed continuously for a whole year

I bought the seeds last spring. I was just getting into gardening and didn't know much, so I just scattered them in soil dug from my mom's vegetable garden. Later they sprouted and grew, and I didn't pinch or shape them, and they bloomed in summer. I never shaped them, and seeing other people's big flower balls made me envious. This year I bought two more plants of other varieties and planted them in my own mixed potting soil to see how they do. I learned a bit of gardening knowledge online and bought an organic nutrient solution to promote flowering, mixing it with water and watering once a week. I never expected it to bloom so much, and once it started, it bloomed for nearly a year.
Maybe it's because of the climate, but the double-flowered petunias sown together with the geraniums also bloomed for a year. The only thing is that because the petunias were never pruned, their branches are now very long and the leaves are very small, not as dense as the geraniums.
This is the green jade chrysanthemum I planted, also grown in ordinary garden soil. It grows very fast and its flowers are very cute. I feel that few people on Tanhua Xing grow this kind of flower. A couple of days ago, while tidying the climbing trellis, I messed up the branches. Because I didn't know better before, I just used whatever soil I had and planted it. Now I still think potting soil might be better, so this year all the flowers I grow are planted in potting soil I mix myself.
One is by the window in scattered light, and one is in the sunroom. The one in the sunroom has more flowers and smaller leaves, while the one by the window has larger flowers and larger leaves but not as many flowers as that one.
