How Japan's half-farming, half-restaurant kiredo achieves delicious wild vegetables and an individual lifestyle
Everything for delicious wild vegetables and an individual lifestyle | Japan's half-farming, half-restaurant kiredo
I was originally drawn in by a flyer for a pottery exhibition, and later when I looked up the exhibition venue "kiredo (キレド)" online, I discovered that this place, which looked like an art gallery, was actually a restaurant. Even cooler, the wild vegetables served at the restaurant all came from a farm it cultivates itself, and this farm even offers a weekly vegetable box delivery service. It was like being drawn in by a single flower at first, then walking closer to discover an entire slope of flowers - that kind of surprise.
I don't know whether kiredo's story began with the farm, or whether the restaurant set it on the path of farming. And so, full of curiosity, on an early spring afternoon, I set out on the journey to visit kiredo.
