What fertilizer does lucky bamboo need to grow vigorously?

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
This question needs to be discussed case by case; soil-grown and water-grown plants are naturally different. Let's start with soil-grown ones. First, after rooting, some compound fertilizer needs to be applied. After that, in the two stages of spring and autumn, applying it just once per season is enough, also compound fertilizer. Now for water-grown ones. These are not suitable for chemical fertilizer; the best choice is a few drops of liquor, or nutrient solution, first after rooting, and then about once every three weeks. No matter which planting method is used, attention must be paid to the fertilizer concentration; it must not be too strong.

1. Does it have a high demand for fertilizer?

Relatively speaking, the amount needed is quite large. If fertilizer is not used for a long time and it is left to grow on its own, its leaves easily turn yellow and the whole plant becomes thin and weak. However, this also needs to be discussed in two cases. Generally speaking, soil-grown ones need less than water-grown ones, and the frequency is also lower.

2. What fertilizer is used for soil-grown ones?

(1) First, right after rooting, some compound fertilizer needs to be used. Doing this can help the plant grow thicker and sturdier, and the leaves will also be greener.

(2) After that, it needs to shift to normal care. The type of fertilizer is still compound fertilizer. However, the frequency is very low; generally speaking, it is only needed in spring and autumn, once per season.

3. What fertilizer is used for water-grown ones?

(1) For plants grown this way, chemical fertilizer is not suitable, which is easy to understand. Generally speaking, we mostly choose liquid fertilizer, or a few drops of liquor, such as brandy. First, after roots grow out, add a few drops. Then, for the subsequent care, relatively speaking, the frequency will be higher than for soil-grown ones; about once every two to three weeks is needed.

(2) In addition, it can also be done in combination with changing the water. About every two weeks, the water is changed for it. So, some (KH2SO4) solution can be added to the newly changed water. Doing this is more beneficial for its normal nutrient absorption.

4. Precautions

No matter which of the above methods is used, the concentration must not be too high, and the amount must not be large. Otherwise, it may grow leggy or burn the roots.
