What to Do If Kalanchoe Leaves Are Small? Cause Analysis and Remedies

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
We can solve this problem from the aspects of temperature, fertilizing and light. This plant grows best in a temperature range of 15 to 25, and liquid fertilizer two to three times a month is also important, and we must also ensure it gets eight to nine hours of light a day. This way, its leaves will become green and large.

1. Temperature

1. One reason its leaves are small is that the temperature is too high. What suits it is the range of 15 to 25 degrees, so we had best let it stay in such a temperature; if the temperature exceeds 30 degrees, the growth rate will be greatly affected,

2. In winter, it had best grow within a temperature range of 12 to 15 degrees. If we let the place where it is located drop below 5 degrees, the leaves will turn red, and the flowering period will be delayed.

2. Fertilizing

Generally, during its growth period it is better for us to apply liquid fertilizer to it once or twice a month. This kind of liquid fertilizer cannot be chosen carelessly either; it must be rich in phosphorus. In addition, the time we fertilize is generally in spring and autumn; of course, after flowering we should also apply fertilizer to it. If we apply fertilizer according to the requirements, its leaves will not be so small.

3. Light

Insufficient light is another reason its leaves are very small. What this plant needs is relatively short exposure to sunlight; it is relatively sensitive to light. Generally, plants that grow relatively well need us to give them eight to nine hours of light every day. This way, after three to four weeks it will become better. As for the rest of the time, we had better do a good job of shading.
