How to divide a money tree? A detailed guide to the correct method of propagation by division

Some plant lovers want to divide a rather large plant into several smaller plants to grow, and this plant is very well suited to division. So is it difficult to divide it? Actually it is very simple. In summary, it is: take it out of the pot, break it apart, disinfect, and plant. Let's see how to do it specifically!

1. Taking it out of the pot:

Since spring is a season suitable for growth, if we want to separate the plant and increase its survival rate, we can choose to do it in April. When the temperature reaches above 18 degrees, we can choose to take a rather large plant out of its pot, then shake off the old soil from the roots.

2. Breaking apart and disinfecting:

According to the characteristics of the latent bud openings on the plant's tubers, a relatively large tuber can be cut into small tubers each with 2 to 3 bud openings. First prepare some sulfur powder or plant ash. After shaking off the soil, observe the plant's tubers and see where the weaker spots are, then carefully break it open by hand along the weak spots. The process must be done slowly, do not rush, just be careful. After breaking it open, apply the prepared sulfur powder or plant ash to the wound on the tuber.

3. Healing:

After waiting for its wound to heal and dry, prepare some fine sand and moisten it with water, just slightly moist is enough. Bury these healed small tubers in the moist sand, care for them carefully, and slowly they will grow into individual plants.

4. Planting:

Prepare a larger pot, fill it with a growing medium mixed from peat, coarse sand or washed coal cinder, and a little garden soil, and bury the small tubers in it. Before long it can continue growing into a fairly sturdy plant.

5. Note:

Disinfecting and healing the wound after breaking it open is essential, otherwise bacteria can easily take advantage of the opening, and then the fragile plant will not be able to continue growing.
