What causes black spots on pothos leaves?
1. Leaf spot disease
A major cause of this phenomenon is leaf spot disease. On a plant with this disease, black spots will grow on the leaves. If this is found to be the cause, you can deal with it yourself.
Solution: Generally, we should first remove the affected leaves, because no matter how you care for them, it is very hard to make the black spots on them disappear. After that, we must ensure ventilation. Of course, this is not a method of eradicating the problem. Finally, what we need to do is use a treatment specifically for this disease. This treatment certainly cannot be used at will; we need to dilute it so that the leaves will not be burned due to the concentration.
2. Air
If we keep it in a place where the air does not move, even the best plant will suffer, so this is also a very obvious cause of black spots on pothos.
Solution: Every few days, we should move it outside the room and let it get some sunlight. Usually, it is best to place it in a ventilated spot. This is an important way to solve black spots caused by air problems.
3. Light
Although we cannot give it direct sunlight, that does not mean it does not like indirect light. If it is kept in a dark place for a long time, black spots are not impossible.
Solution: It is best to put it outside in the morning and evening to get some sun.
4. Cold damage
It cannot withstand very low temperatures. If it is exposed to cold, black spots are very likely to appear.
Solution: In winter, take certain measures to keep it warm and help it make it through the winter safely.
