Reasons for and solutions to pothos leaves withering

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Both water-cultured and soil-cultured pothos can show withering, but the causes differ, so if we notice it withering, because the causes are different, the measures we should take are also different: if bacteria have grown, remove them promptly; if the moisture is improper, replenishing water or placing it in a ventilated spot to let the water evaporate; if the light is too strong, reduce it slightly; if too much fertilizer was applied, flush out the excess fertilizer.

1. Bacteria have grown

If it is water-cultured, it is very likely that many bacteria in the water caused the withering, so the best method is to change the water, so that it will not continue to dry up.

2. Improper moisture

If it is soil-cultured, if the newly grown leaves are not a normal green and the leaf edges become withered and dry, it may be because of too much watering; if the symptom is that leaves that have grown for a long time have become dry and withered, it may be because of too little watering.

So based on this we can determine whether we should add water or let it evaporate moisture in a ventilated spot. Of course, water-cultured ones may also dry up because there is too little water, so it is also necessary for us to consider adding water.

3. Light too strong

This is also a major cause of impact. If the light is too strong, its leaves are very likely to become withered, and the side facing the sun will turn yellow, so if the phenomenon of drying up plus yellowing appears, we should move it to a place with less sunlight; of course, we cannot let it stay in too dark a place, as this has no benefit for its growth and will also bring new problems.

4. Too much fertilizer

Fertilizing also affects its leaves. Generally speaking, too much fertilizer is a major cause of its drying up, so if we find that this is the cause, we can flush out the fertilizer; of course, afterwards the soil moisture may be relatively high, so we should put it in a ventilated and lit place to deal with the water, otherwise it is easy to cause the roots to rot. If the situation is very serious, we should consider repotting, otherwise it will continue to affect the relatively healthy parts and finally cause the whole pot of plant to wither and die. So everyone must not think that fertilizer is very good for it and apply a lot of it.
