What to Do If Kalanchoe Leaves Are Scorched? Causes and Solutions
1. Lack of Light
If there is a long-term lack of light or insufficient light, the problem mentioned above will appear. At this time, you need to strengthen the light for it. Apart from needing appropriate shading in summer, it needs fairly sufficient light at other times. In winter, place it indoors on a south-facing windowsill, which can ensure its temperature and light. If the temperature is above 5°C, it will not die. If you want it to produce flowers, it needs a temperature above 15°C.
2. Improper Watering
If there is not enough water or too much water, its leaves will also become scorched. Watering needs to alternate between dry and wet, not letting it remain moist or dry for a long time. The amount of water also needs to be decided according to the weather and the quality of the soil. If the moisture is fairly sufficient but the leaves still become scorched, pay attention to whether the stem near the roots has turned black. In winter, also give it some fertilizer containing phosphorus or a slow-release fertilizer.
3. Natural Aging
If it is natural aging, its leaves will also become scorched. During its growth process, due to adaptation to the environment, natural aging will occur, and the leaves will become scorched. This situation does not require special treatment; just cut off the scorched leaves.
4. Daily Care
1. If you want it to grow healthily and keep its leaves green, first place it in a suitable position. You can move it to a place with diffused light for care, and also pay attention to watering a little more to ensure its leaves can normally absorb water and then become tender, so that after a few days the leaves will return to green.
2. If it grows in summer, be sure to reduce the amount of watering, and also place it in a cool, ventilated area for care, so that the leaves will grow well. In the relatively cold winter, pay attention to keeping it warm and do not let it get frostbitten.
