What to Do When Peony Leaves Turn Yellow? Cause Analysis and Solutions
1. Dry soil
We know that the soil plants need must be breathable and loose. If we give it very dry soil, the impact will be great, because the roots will have difficulty developing and are easily damaged as a result, and their ability to absorb water is not high. Once it is in high-temperature conditions, because its leaves transpire heavily, they lose a lot of water, so the leaves turn yellow. Therefore, we should repot it with looser soil.
2. Improper fertilizing
Fertilizing is meant to let it take up various elements, but if we apply too much nitrogen fertilizer, its leaves will curl up and also turn yellow. This is especially serious when it lacks elements such as iron and manganese. Therefore, we need to apply a compound fertilizer, and not lean too heavily on nitrogen.
3. Pruning too early
Plants all need pruning and tipping, and if we do this too early, it is very likely to make it hard for phosphorus to be transported, so it accumulates in the lower leaves, while the leaves elsewhere are very likely to turn yellow. Therefore, do not prune too early. If you accidentally prune too early, remove the yellowed leaves and care for it slowly.
4. Overwatering
Because it is afraid of waterlogging, if you give it too much water, its leaves easily turn yellow, and especially with standing water, its roots can easily rot as a result. If there is too much standing water, you can place it in a cool, windy spot so that it can disperse the water.
