Not enough plants at home to grow, and off to the flower market to buy, buy, buy again? Actually, you don't need to spend any money at all! Huahua today plans to teach everyone all the propagation techniques, so after flower lovers learn them, hurry and give them a try while it's spring!

Leaf cutting propagation

Take kalanchoe as an example:

1. Choose intact, healthy leaves and cut them off, then place them in a cool, ventilated spot to dry for 1-2 days.

2. Prepare the soil for leaf cuttings: mix leaf mold and river sand at 1:1.

3. After coating the wound of the dried leaf with rooting powder, insert it into the soil, water thoroughly, and place it in a spot without direct sunlight to grow. The flowerpot can be a little larger.

4. Generally, the leaves will root in about 15 days.

5. Transplant into pots. Just transplant the rooted leaves into the prepared soil.

6. Christmas cactus, snake plant, geranium, and others can all be propagated by leaf cuttings. For succulent leaf cuttings, after drying the leaves, lay them flat on the potting soil, and be careful not to insert them vertically into the soil.

Stem cutting propagation

Take rose as an example:

1. Cut off healthy rose stems, 8-10 cm long, making sure the stems have two leaves.

2. Insert the prepared stems into the prepared sandy soil, water thoroughly, and place them in a spot at home with scattered light.

3. Rose cuttings will root in about 15 days, and after rooting, just transplant them into pots.

4. Camellia, hydrangea, bougainvillea, gardenia, and others can be propagated from stems.

Runner propagation

Take spider plant as an example:

1. Many plants, such as spider plant, mint, and strawberry, can be propagated using runners.

2. First cut off the runner portion, and it can be placed in a container for water rooting.

3. The spider plant roots have already developed.

4. Transplant into pots and continue growing.

Layering propagation

Layering propagation can be divided into ground layering and air layering.

Gardenia, winter jasmine, and hydrangea are suitable for ground layering; osmanthus, jasmine, and rhododendron can use air layering.

1. Ground layering.

①Prepare a knife and a brick, choose a robust stem, and use the knife to cut a ring-shaped slit around the stem, but do not cut it off.

②Place the cut part of the stem into the soil in a U shape, then cover it with soil, press it down with the brick, and keep the soil moist.

③After about two months, roots will grow at the wound, and then you can cut off that part and transplant it into a pot.

2. Air layering.

①Choose a strong stem, peel off a ring-shaped cut around it, removing all the green outer skin. You can apply rooting powder to the cut on the stem to promote faster rooting.

②Use moist moss, wood shavings, potting soil, etc., place them in a plastic bottle cut in half, and wrap it around the wound. Tie the lower end tightly, and leave an opening at the upper end for ventilation and watering.

③After rooting, you can cut off the layered part and transplant it into a pot.

Seed propagation

Take mango as an example:

1. Fruit seeds can be used to grow fruit potted plants.

2. Carefully take out the seed from the mango pit and soak it in water for 4-8 hours (the thicker the seed coat, the longer the soaking time).

3. Place the soaked seed in the prepared soil, cover it with about 1 cm of soil, spray a little water with a spray bottle, and wait for it to sprout.

4. After sprouting, you can wait for the mango tree to grow!

Division propagation

Take aloe as an example:

1. Take the aloe out of the pot, clean the soil off the roots, use a sterilized knife to cut off the side shoots, and place them in a cool, ventilated spot to dry the wounds.

2. Prepare potting soil by mixing leaf mold and river sand at 1:1, transplant the dried aloe into the soil, water thoroughly, and place it in a spot with scattered light to grow. After it adjusts to the pot, care for it normally.

3. Clivia and other orchids can all be propagated by division.

All right, about flower propagation methods

Huahua has introduced them all to everyone today
