Basically everyone nowadays installs a range hood at home, because when cooking, the amount of oily smoke is quite large; without a range hood, this oily smoke would spread throughout the home, polluting the indoor air environment and harming people's health. But after a range hood has been used for a long time, sticky grease stains appear on its body, all from the oil components contained in the air that rises when cooking. These grease stains not only make the range hood look dirty, but also affect its working efficiency, so every so often we clean the range hood. But if there is too much residual grease on the range hood, wouldn't it be too wasteful to clean it all off and throw it away? We have a very good solution: use it to grow flowers.

1. Some people may ask, don't this waste oil affect air quality? Why can it still be used to grow flowers? Won't it affect the growth of the flowers? The answer is no. This waste oil contains quite a lot of nutritional elements, and instead promotes plant growth. However, the process of collecting this waste oil is not too easy, because these grease stains are sticky and slippery, and touching them with your fingers makes you feel uncomfortable. When necessary, you can try using a spoon to scrape the grease off little by little and pour it along the edge of the potted plant, being careful not to cover the plant's root system, because this waste oil is relatively dense and may block the respiration of the plant's roots.

2. The waste oil looks black; after collecting it, you can first put it into a small bottle. Each time you pour, the amount should be a little less; don't be greedy for convenience and pour it all in at once, as this will only hinder the potted plant's absorption of water and oxygen. This waste oil is a cheap and easily obtained fertilizer. If used properly, it can make potted plants produce more brightly colored flowers, and plants that were originally withered may also recover their vitality.

3. Waste oil is not suitable for all plants. For example, plants like jasmine and pothos, which are not very easy to keep alive in the first place, after being watered with waste oil, the soil is very likely to become compacted. After compaction, the soil's ability to permeate water is greatly reduced, and at the same time these plants are not very good at decomposing oils and fats, so the effective substances in the waste oil cannot be absorbed efficiently.

Therefore, for this kind of plant that does not like fertilizer and has fragile roots, do not try waste oil irrigation anymore; such fussing will only accelerate their death. However, for plants like kalanchoe and geraniums, which originally have relatively strong survival ability and decent adaptability, waste oil is a fairly suitable nutrient for them,

In this way, first, it can save the cost of plant cultivation, and second, it can also make use of waste and reduce unnecessary waste, so everyone must not throw away waste oil anymore in the future.
