How to grow Michelia figo (banana shrub) so it blooms more? A full guide to care methods
1. Temperature
If you want the plant to bloom more, a warm environment is certainly the first thing to guarantee. Around 15 degrees is relatively suitable. However, note that what it likes is warmth, not high temperatures. So the temperature should not be too high either.
2. Water
If you want it to bloom more, sufficient water is also indispensable. Since it is right in the flowering period, the demand is also relatively large. So we can keep the frequency at once a day. However, this plant has fleshy roots. So we understand that water cannot be too much either. Otherwise, not only will it fail to achieve the goal of blooming more, but it will instead reduce the number of blooms.
3. Fertilizer
The flowering period inherently requires many nutrients, and moreover our goal is to make it bloom as much as possible, so even more attention must be paid to the supply of nutrients. During its growth period, fertilizer needs to be applied once about every half a month. Specifically, animal manure, bone meal and rotted cake fertilizer can be mixed together and applied. Doing this lays the foundation for it to bloom more. However, once it reaches its flowering period, it should no longer be applied.
4. Light
First, because it itself cannot be exposed to harsh sun, one thing to do first is not to let it see too strong sunlight. However, considering the goal of making it bloom more, it also cannot be too shaded. So, combining the two situations above, keep the shading degree at 30 percent and let it properly receive some light. When the light is too strong, do not forget to shade it.
