What to Do When a Kumquat Tree Drops Its Leaves? Cause Analysis and Solutions
1. Insufficient Nutrients
If it is often in a state of nitrogen deficiency, its nutrients will be insufficient, and its leaves will fall. During its growing period, it needs more slightly acidic fertilizer, and the soil also needs to be loosened. After it enters dormancy, in addition to strictly controlling the amount of water, fertilization must also be stopped; in particular, chemical fertilizer must not be applied, otherwise it will suffer fertilizer damage and its roots will be burned. During the care process, the owner should ensure it gets enough nutrients and light, and then it will return to normal.
2. Improper Watering
Because it prefers acidic soil, if tap water is used, it will destroy the acidity of the soil, it will lack iron, and the leaves will turn yellow and then fall. We can solve this problem by regularly watering it with a diluted FeSO4 solution.
3. Suffering from Pest Damage
This kind of tree relatively attracts insects; generally, red spiders and yellow spiders easily grow on this kind of tree. Once it is attacked by these pests, yellow spots will appear on its leaves, and if the situation is very severe, its leaves will fall. To reduce pest damage, it should be given enough light in daily care, and then there will be fewer pests.
Once signs of illness are found, medication should be used to control it.
