First in the nation: NCHU Plant Teaching Hospital officially opens! 40 experts in agronomy and plant medicine offer on-site and remote consultations
"Zoom in a little more with your camera. Look at this leaf. Your fruit tree has already weakened. You need to supplement trace elements and potassium. Pay attention: apply nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium to the soil, don't spray it onto the tree." Wearing a physician's coat, plant doctor Zhang Chaofang of the National Chung Hsing University Plant Teaching Hospital sits in the consultation room, gesturing toward the sugar apple farmer on the other end of the computer video link, identifying the cause and prescribing the right remedy. "I see, so that's how it is." The sugar apple farmer has obtained the solution to save his weakened fruit trees.
The scene above is a live consultation at the National Chung Hsing University Plant Teaching Hospital, officially unveiled today (the 10th). "National Chung Hsing University is the first in the nation, the first teaching hospital to be established; I believe it will bring great transformation to agriculture in the future," said Chen Chi-chung, Deputy Minister of the Council of Agriculture. The dedicated Plant Physician Act is preparing to make another attempt at the Executive Yuan next month. The Council of Agriculture is assisting National Chung Hsing University in establishing Taiwan's first plant hospital, hoping that alongside the legislative process, the plant hospital can be operated in practice to complete the subsequent diagnostic and medical care systems.
