How to grow azaleas so they burst into a full pot? A complete guide to care techniques
1. Various environmental factors
(1) Light: Although light is indispensable, this plant is very afraid of strong light. So, to be safe, it is not suitable to place it in a south-facing direction; placing it in an east-, west-, or north-facing direction is better. However, to achieve a full pot, daily light is essential, and keeping it at three to four hours is ideal.
(2) Water: The general principle has already been mentioned above, namely "moist but not wet," which is very suitable as a summary. Specifically, you can water a little every day to encourage it to burst into a full pot. However, there must never be waterlogging. Otherwise, the entire plant will suffer, and it will be unlikely to continue bursting into a full pot. Also, considering that the plant prefers acidic conditions, you can appropriately add a few drops of vinegar to the water before watering.
(3) Fertilizer: There are not too many requirements for the type; animal manure is ideal, as it is more natural and harmless. As for frequency, it does not need to be too much; too much will be counterproductive. Twice a month is enough, and it is very helpful for its full-pot bloom.
(4) Temperature: Needless to say, it of course must be in a suitable state. Its flowering period is in relatively colder times, so temperature is extremely important. For this plant, keeping it around 24°C is enough.
2. Bud pinching treatment
This is speaking from another angle. This is not a necessary treatment, but some friends have found after trying it that the effect is quite good. This plant sprouts very quickly, so you can pinch off the buds once every two days. New buds can quickly grow out. In this way, you can encourage it to burst into a full pot.
