Why Azalea Leaves Turn Black and How to Fix It
1. Watering problems
(1) Specific cause: This plant has fairly high water requirements. If you give too much or too little, the leaves may turn black.
(2) Solution: So, overall, you shouldn't water too frequently. Observe the condition of the soil surface and just water once it has dried out. Use this to determine the watering interval, which is more flexible and works well.
2. Fertilizer problems
(1) Specific cause: Just like water, too much or too little fertilizer can cause the leaves to turn black.
(2) Solution: There is an overall principle for fertilizing, which is "apply thin fertilizer frequently." Of course, "frequently" doesn't mean the number of times can be too many; moderation is best. The most important thing is the concentration, which absolutely must not be too high.
3. Air humidity problems
(1) Specific cause: Besides watering, air humidity also affects it. If it is too low, it can also cause its leaves to turn black.
(2) Solution: Specifically, keeping it at 60 to 80 percent is better. We can raise it by placing a basin of water beside it, or by spraying some water mist around it.
4. Light problems
(1) Specific cause: This plant requires a semi-shaded environment. So, light that is too strong will inevitably scorch the leaves, and they will turn black.
(2) Solution: Observe whether the position where the plant sits will be hit by direct light. If it will, then you must adjust it in time.
5. Disease problems
(1) Specific cause: Specifically, it is "brown spot disease." At the beginning of the disease there are some small spots. Later, the entire leaf may turn black.
(2) Solution: First remove the infected leaves. Then, spray some fungicide, such as chlorothalonil solution.
