What to Do If Snake Plant Leaves Rot? Causes and Solutions
1. Light
In winter we need to keep it indoors, but if we do not care for it carefully, it is easy for some parts to rot or even the whole plant to rot. At this time we need to control the light well. Although it is fairly tolerant, we must place it in a spot with plenty of sunlight. Only with more light can it stay vigorous and its resistance to cold increase, so that the leaves will not rot so much.
2. Watering
Because watering affects it and can cause its leaves to rot, we need to control this variable well. Generally speaking, if too much water is given, the leaves will rot even if the temperature is very high. So in winter do not water at will; only water when the soil has dried out. If the temperature is relatively low, we can water once every ten-plus days; if the temperature is relatively high, we can use a cycle of seven to ten days. Generally the amount of water does not need to be too much, as long as it can penetrate to the bottom of the pot; absolutely do not overwater, and it does not matter even if the amount is small. In addition, in winter we should use water at around 20 degrees, because it tolerates cold poorly, but if the temperature is relatively high, we must remember not to let it dry out.
3. Treatment
If the leaves have already rotted noticeably, we can take the still-healthy leaves and cut them, then let them dry, after that insert them into the soil, and after watering once, place them in a spot with a relatively high temperature, and afterward they will grow roots.
