How to grow gardenias so they burst into a full pot? Care tips shared
1. Flower soil
On this point, friends in the south may have an easier time, but friends in the north may find it more of a headache. This is because most soil in the north is slightly alkaline, and this flower finds it hard to adapt to this kind of soil, so it generally will not burst into a full pot. For this reason, we can go to a flower shop to buy special soil for this flower, or mix garden soil and leaf mold at 1:1 to make our own flower soil.
2. Acidity
To make it burst into a full pot, we need to keep the soil it grows in slightly acidic for a long time. For this reason, we can usually use vinegar to water it. However, note that the vinegar used must not contain salt, and before watering it needs to be diluted first, preferably more than a hundred times.
3. Watering
If we want it to burst into a full pot, it must not lack water, because it is a relatively water-loving flower. Normally we need to observe the condition of its soil. If it feels a little moist to the touch, we can hold off on watering for now, but if it feels dry to the touch, we need to water it. Watering is best done during the period from sunrise to 9 o'clock. In midsummer, we can water it an extra time in the evening, and note that it must not be watered at noon.
4. Light
It relatively likes light. When it is blooming, it can bask in the sun, but at noon certain shading measures still need to be taken to shade it. In winter, it should be allowed to get as much light as possible, otherwise it will struggle to grow normally. In addition, in spring it should also enjoy enough light, which can make it produce more and better flowers.
5. Flower fertilizer
If we want it to burst into a full pot, the support of flower fertilizer is naturally indispensable. However, we cannot wait until after it blooms to apply flower fertilizer. On the contrary, we need to appropriately increase the amount of flower fertilizer applied before it grows buds. This can increase the nutrients it can absorb and accumulate in the plant, thereby supporting what is needed for blooming. After it blooms, we must not use large amounts of fertilizer, otherwise the flowers may wither early.
6. Pruning
During its growth, we need to prune and pinch off the growing tips in time to reduce the amount of nutrients the top branches and leaves obtain, so as to promote the development of side buds. Once its side buds grow out, it will naturally be able to produce more flowers!
