What are sansai grasses? A random find in a flower shop: a rock with wild grass selling for 1600 yuan

While strolling around on the weekend, I passed by a flower shop and felt as if I had stepped into a mountain forest. On the shelves sat row after row of plants with a rather wild charm, and they were even growing on rocks!
The term sansai grasses comes from Japan; in China they are also called "decorative grasses". They refer to the tiny wild grasses that grow in mountain greenery, decorative herbaceous plants full of wild charm. Paired with all kinds of bonsai, elegant stones, antiques and the like, they make the scene look even richer.
These days some medicinal sansai grasses are very popular, such as Acorus gramineus sansai grass, Salvia miltiorrhiza sansai grass, Dendrobium officinale sansai grass and many others. Their prices range from low to high, from several hundred to tens of thousands, for example the one in the picture above sells for 1600 yuan.
In fact, besides these medicinal sansai grasses, there are currently all kinds of mosses, succulents, asparagus ferns and miniature shrubs. As long as they have high ornamental value and are suitable for growing and displaying at home, they can all be classed as "sansai grasses".
The wild grasses and wildflowers that once sprouted randomly in the mountains and fields, when you look at them now, have all kinds of different charms and are really quite beautiful. It is time to go back to the mountains of my hometown and take a look, haha!
