How is Forsythia tea made? A step-by-step guide to the production method
I. Production methods
1. Direct boiling
It is a Chinese medicinal herb, and the part that produces its effects is its fruit. It belongs to the Oleaceae family and has different names in different parts of our country. You can mix 20 grams of this plant with 3 grams of green tea, boil it with 250 milliliters of water, simmer for about five minutes, and it is ready to drink. You can keep drinking until all its flavor has been released. You can also simply steep it in 200 milliliters of hot water. It can remove toxic heat and protect the liver.
2. Making it into tea leaves
The method of making it into tea leaves is not very difficult: just pick out its young buds, wash them clean with pure water, and steam them on a rack for five to ten minutes. Do not steam them too thoroughly, and do not steam the leaves until they are mushy. You can also dry or roast it to make tea leaves. Then put it in fine bran, remove the powder, and then carry out scenting, and it becomes the finished product. It can quench thirst, reduce internal heat, and refresh the mind.
II. Benefits
After use, it can reduce swelling, remove heat, and can clear heat and detoxify, fight bacteria, eliminate inflammation, and so on; its benefits are very good. It is divided into two types: one is green Forsythia, and the other is old Forsythia. If the fruit is picked in autumn when it has just ripened and is still green, the impurities are removed, and after steaming and drying it is called green Forsythia. If it is picked after the fruit is fully ripe and then dried, it is called old Forsythia. Generally, the quality of the former is better than that of the latter.
III. Usage precautions
Although it has excellent effects on the lungs, small intestine, and heart, the dosage must be paid attention to. Each use is best kept at 6 to 15 grams, and you must never put in too much. Some patients are not suitable for using this Chinese medicinal herb. If diarrhea or nausea occurs, it indicates side effects have appeared. Eating this herbal tea may also cause liver poisoning, so you must be very careful.
