How to keep cut carnations fresh? A few practical methods to teach you
1. Replenish water in time
Before inserting it into the vase, you need to remove its leaves, cut off a section of the base of the carnation at a 45-degree angle, and then insert it into water. This helps the flower stem obtain water better and achieves the effect of timely hydration. However, even if you need to replenish water in time, you must not spray water on its flowers, otherwise it will not only fail to keep them fresh, but will also cause them to rot.
2. Keep fresh with additives
To prevent root rot, you can add a small amount of table salt or a preservative sold on the market. After a certain amount of additive components enters the water, the water quality will definitely decline a lot, and over time it is not good for the flower's survival, so the water needs to be changed in time to ensure the water quality in which it lives. If you want to extend its lifespan, you can keep it in water with a small amount of beer, or add powdered aspirin, to increase the nutrients in the water.
3. Change the water reasonably
When changing the water, appropriately shortening the flower branches can not only maintain stability but also shorten the distance over which it transports water. Do not let the flower's leaves soak in the water, otherwise the leaves will rot. Remember to promptly clean up flowers and leaves that have already withered. Generally speaking, in summer change the water once a day, and in winter once every two days. When the summer temperature is too high, to prevent the water it is soaking in from getting too warm, you can put a few ice cubes in it.
4. Placement position
Carnations are best not placed next to vegetables, fruits, and other things that can carry out aerobic respiration, and they should also be kept away from televisions and other devices that emit radiation. It likes a cool environment and is not tolerant of heat. In summer, avoid direct sunlight, but still ensure a certain amount of light. In winter, be careful not to place it in a windy place, otherwise the flower will be dried out by the wind, water will be lost quickly, and it will not be conducive to keeping it fresh.
