When Does the Rain Lily Bloom? A Detailed Guide to Its Flowering Period

1. When It Blooms

Normally, it looks just like a pot of grass, but every time it blooms, the flowers open in masses. After the rain, the white and pink flowers are very eye-catching, and this is the rain lily. The flowers usually planted along park roadsides are white-petaled, opening during the day and closing at night; a single flower can stay open for two to three days, and it specifically waits until after the rain to open. It can bloom continuously from mid-May to the end of October, and it can grow flowers every month.

2. Tips for Making It Bloom

1. If you water it with cold water and give it only about half a month of light, then when it is cloudy or overcast, water it with ice-cold water, making sure to soak the leaves and roots thoroughly, it will grow flowers in about a week. This is because the cooler water promotes the initiation of flower buds.

2. If you cut it back like you would cut chives, flower buds will also appear. But the odds of this are fairly low. In fact, once the flowering season arrives, it will naturally grow flowers when the rainy days come; if there is no rain, you can only wait.

3. Its flowers stay in bloom for a fairly long time. In more southern regions, you can see its flowers from late spring to early winter, and its flowering period is generally from April to November. It can be planted directly in the open ground; if grown in a pot, you can give it moderate shade in summer. If planted directly in the ground, don't let the soil get too dry.
