100% success gardenia cutting method

1. Prepare a large drink bottle, a piece of foam board, tape, and scissors.
2. Cut the plastic bottle open, but do not cut it all the way through; leave one section uncut. Cut the foam board into a circle, with a diameter a little smaller than the bottle.
3. Take a gardenia cutting, remove some of the leaves near the bottom, then insert it into the foam board.
4. Put water in the bottle, place the foam board and gardenia into the bottle, then close the bottle body and seal it with tape. Put the cap on, and poke two or three small holes in the cap.
5. Put the bottle in a spot with indirect light and wait for roots to form. No need to change the water during this time; roots will usually form in less than half a month.
6. After roots have grown, do not rush to plant it; give the young seedling time to adjust. Open the upper part of the plastic bottle for ventilation, let it air for 1~2 days, then transplant it into a pot.

1. Soil acidity and alkalinity
If gardenia leaves turn yellow, it may be that the soil is not acidic enough, or that it lacks iron. You can use 0.5 g citric acid plus 2.5 g ferrous sulfate, mix with 1 liter of clean water, shake well and water the plant, using it 3~4 times a month.
2. Moisture retention
Gardenia likes a humid air environment, so in the evening you can mist the leaves and the area around the pot to raise humidity. In summer, mist both morning and evening.
3. Water temperature
When misting or watering gardenia, it is best to use water that has been left in the sun. Usually you can keep water in a plastic bucket on the balcony in the sun, and it is very convenient to use.
