Spring is the golden season for succulent growth,
How are your succulents doing now? Today Huahua is here to share some spring succulent growing experiencePost-winter cleanup

You may have noticed that your succulents may have become shriveled and leggy due to frost damage from winter low temperatures and lack of light, and by the time spring warms up, they are only "half alive."
At this point, don't lose confidence in your succulents. Just
remove the frost-damaged "cooked" leaves and dead leaves, move the succulents from indoors to the balcony, let them bask in the sun and warm up, and they will "miraculously recover."
Pest and disease control

Spring is also the active period for insects. Mealybugs, aphids and root mealybugs are common pests in succulent growing.
At this point, you just need to put in a little effort. When admiring your succulents, flip the leaves and check both sides for black spots or white patches. Once found, remove them immediately, pierce them dead with a needle, and in severe cases, wash the succulents with a 1:1 solution of vinegar and water.
Sun exposure

After several big months of winter with little light and little sun, succulents desperately need sunlight!!! How should you sun them, and for how long?
Spring sunlight is not too strong. At temperatures around 15-20 degrees, succulents can easily be placed on the balcony for full sun exposure. However, in certain areas such as Wuhan and other southern cities, succulents need shading when temperatures are especially high.
Watering

Matching the warm and humid spring climate, watering succulents does not need to be particularly deliberate. Frequent watering instead causes phenomena such as succulent leaves turning to water or becoming leggy.
You can water according to your succulents' specific conditions, at a frequency of about once every 5-10 days, following the principles of "small amounts, many times" for seedlings, "intermittent but sufficient" for mature plants, and "water thoroughly at once" for old plants.
Cuttings and repotting

Spring is the best time for succulent cuttings. Whether a succulent is growing poorly or growing vigorously, it can be replanted.
Succulents that never seem to grow can be dug out, have their excess roots cleaned off, and after being replanted in a pot, they will grow better and better.
For leggy succulents, you can cut off the head. The flower head, leaves and remaining stem can all continue to grow into succulents!
That's all for Huahua's spring succulent growing experience. Below, Huahua will show you photos of succulents sent in by enthusiastic flower friends~
