Grow a pot of cherry tomatoes at home: the fruits are pretty and good-looking, tasty, can be eaten as a vegetable or as a fruit, and can also be enjoyed as a potted plant, killing two birds with one stone. They are a vegetable very well suited to balcony home potting, so how do you grow cherry tomatoes at home or on a balcony, and what should you do to get a big harvest?

1. As long as the balcony stays ventilated and has enough sunlight, you can grow cherry tomatoes in pots. As long as the seeds are fresh, that's fine. When sowing, cover with soil 1 cm thick, spray with water using a spray bottle, and keep moist and warm. In a little over a week, many seedlings will sprout.

2. The current spring temperature is very suitable for their growth, and this is their peak growing season. Apply enough base fertilizer at the bottom of the potting soil; you can use chicken manure fertilizer or cake fertilizer.

3. When the tomato seedlings grow to a height of 15 cm or more, you can prune them a bit, cutting off overly dense branches, and then pinch off the top, that is, pinch off the highest, topmost branch, so that more side shoots and branches can grow, more flowers can bloom, and more fruit can set.

4. While pruning, fertilize them in time. As long as it is organic fertilizer, it can be diluted with water and poured into the potting soil; you can also use fermented rice-washing water, soybean residue, and so on, which will lead to more fruit.

5. If the cherry tomatoes are grown on an enclosed balcony, after flowering, just shake the branches appropriately to promote pollination.

After two months, the cherry tomatoes bear more and more fruit. Fertilize, give them sun, and keep them ventilated, and you'll have more tomatoes than you can eat; pick them whenever you want to eat them.
