Lucky bamboo is deeply loved by many people for its elegant appearance and auspicious meaning. Many people like to keep a pot of lucky bamboo in the study, living room and other places. Placing it there not only makes people feel refined and relaxed, but also adds vitality to the home, and it is very beautiful. But many people say that when keeping lucky bamboo at home, the leaves often turn yellow after a while, but they do not know the reason or what to do.

If you want to treat yellowing leaves on lucky bamboo, you need to find the cause and solve it according to the cause.

1. Caused by inappropriate watering

Watering is very important for lucky bamboo, so if lucky bamboo is watered improperly, it can easily cause its leaves to turn yellow. Watering too much leaves standing water in the pot of lucky bamboo, which can easily cause root rot in lucky bamboo, and the first sign of root rot is yellowing leaves. Watering too little causes lucky bamboo to lack water, and lack of water will cause the edges of the leaf tips to turn yellow or dry up.

Solution: If too much water was given, it is best to take the lucky bamboo out of the pot, let it dry in a cool place, and then repot it; if too little water was given, just water it more. If it has not been watered for a long time, water it gradually rather than giving too much at once.

2. Caused by lighting

Light is an important part of plant growth. Lucky bamboo prefers a shady environment, so if lucky bamboo receives strong sunlight, its leaves will turn yellow; but if lucky bamboo is always kept in a dark place without sunlight, it will also be unable to carry out photosynthesis, resulting in reduced chlorophyll and thus yellow leaves.

Solution: When caring for lucky bamboo, remember to place it in a shaded place to receive sunlight. If it is summer or the sunlight is relatively strong at noon, shade the lucky bamboo appropriately. This ensures that lucky bamboo has enough time to receive sunlight while not being exposed to strong light, thereby avoiding yellow leaves.

3. Caused by fertilizing

Fertilizing is an essential factor in the growth of plants, and lucky bamboo is no exception. But when fertilizing lucky bamboo, if too much fertilizer is applied, the old leaves of lucky bamboo will turn scorched yellow and eventually fall off, and the newly grown leaves will also appear dry and brown; if too little fertilizer is applied, lucky bamboo will be unable to grow normally due to lack of nutrients, resulting in yellow leaves.

Solution: When fertilizing lucky bamboo, check whether it lacks fertilizer. If yellow leaves appear due to fertilizing, do not panic. Based on the above symptoms of yellowing leaves, judge whether too much or too little fertilizer was applied. If too much fertilizer was applied, stop fertilizing and then water it a little. If the situation is very serious, it is better to take it out of the pot and repot it; if the symptoms are of too little fertilizer, fertilize in time, or replace the nutrient soil so that lucky bamboo can replenish the nutrients it needs.
