Its flowers carry two layers of meaning: one represents first love, and the other represents a love that grows old together. It usually blooms from July to September, and each flower stays open for two to four days; normal care after flowering is all that is needed.

1. Its flower language

The meaning its flowers represent is first love, and they stand for purity. This is because there are two kinds of love in this world that are both extremely pure: one is first love, and the other is the love of still being able to spend life together with one's first love even in old age, growing old together and keeping each other company day and night, utterly pure.

2. Its flowering period

It is also called autumn zephyrlily; it is a herbaceous plant with bulbs 2.5 cm in diameter, and its neck is very distinct, with a neck length of 2.5-5 cm. Its leaves are narrowly linear in shape, very thick and fleshy, and very bright green, generally 20 to 30 cm long and 2 to 4 mm wide. It usually blooms between July and September. From opening to fading, each flower can last about 2-4 days. If it is exposed to blazing sun for too long, its flowers can only stay open for one day. The flower stem is hollow, and each flower grows at the top of the stem; the pedicel is about 1 cm long, and the flower is generally white. Without a doctor's guidance, do not eat it casually, as its bulbs can cause symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea.

3. Care after flowering

It is very easy to grow and does not need special care; it rarely gets sick, but it is rather fragile while flowering. You can spray it once with a disinfecting solution in advance to avoid affecting the flowering. It is fairly drought-tolerant, and watering should be reduced while it is flowering, as long as the soil is slightly moist. After the flowers fade, the leaves will also slowly wither, which is normal, and it will still bloom again the following year. It is fairly cold-resistant; if it is in the Yangtze River area, it can remain evergreen, and it can survive for a long time below zero degrees; if it is minus ten degrees, it will not suffer cold damage for a short time, but if this lasts too long it will freeze to death. After flowering, just care for it according to normal steps; there is no need to worry too much.
