Some plants are drought-tolerant, some prefer moisture, some love sunlight, and some prefer shade. Today let's introduce them to you!

1. Introduction to drought-tolerant plants

When the soil and air are moist, they can absorb water directly; when the air is dry, the water inside the plant quickly transpires and dissipates, and the whole plant takes on an air-dried appearance, but the protoplasm does not solidify - instead it enters a dormant state, and as soon as water arrives, it immediately revives.

2. Common varieties of drought-tolerant plants

(1) Desert rose

Apocynaceae, a small tree. Leaves are long and spoon-shaped, clustered at the tips of the branches. Flowers are rose-red, large and beautiful, an ornamental flowering plant.

(2) Big-flowered stapelia

A little monster of the Asclepiadaceae family, also known as starfish flower or carrion flower. It likes warm, dry environments with plenty of sunlight, is drought-tolerant and tolerates partial shade, is not cold-hardy, is vigorous, and has no obvious dormancy period.

(3) String of pearls

Stems are long, hanging or lying flat on the ground; leaves are fleshy, spindle-shaped, round and spherical, able to store water; flowers grow at the tips of the branches. A sand-dwelling drought-tolerant plant, often potted as an ornamental plant.

(4) Cactus

To adapt to the living conditions of the arid desert, its plant body is succulent and fleshy to store water; its leaves have become needle-shaped to prevent massive water evaporation.

(5) Peruvian apple cactus

It has a tall, large plant form and grows quickly. It is suitable for planting in exhibition greenhouses for viewing, and can also be used as a rootstock for large globular cacti for grafting.

(6) Jade plant

Also known as the showy stonecrop tree. Its branches and leaves are thick and fleshy, green all year round, with peculiar leaf shapes and a stately plant form. It is easy to cultivate and simple to manage. It is suitable for potted cultivation and is perfect placed on a balcony or windowsill.

(7) Green emperor philodendron

Also known as green emperor, emperor, or clustered-leaf philodendron. Araceae, Philodendron genus, an evergreen woody climbing plant. It is very suitable for indoor decoration; its leaves are huge and emerald green, so it is also called the "green giant."

(8) Broad-leaved kalanchoe

Also called large-leaved mother of thousands. Crassulaceae, Kalanchoe genus. A succulent plant, known as the "phoenix" because of its super-strong reproductive ability, and it is also very drought-tolerant.

(9) Sasanoyuki

Sasanoyuki is a very cute and very drought-tolerant plant. Because it grows in a fairly regular shape and is incredibly adorable, I'm introducing it to everyone!

(10) Sago palm

I also mentioned the sago palm a while ago, and we had some discussion about their male and female varieties, and I even introduced their daily care and varieties.
