Causes of Curled Leaves on Bougainvillea and How to Fix Them
1. Temperature too high
In a high-temperature environment, this plant's leaves curl very easily. Many people growing this plant overlook this cause, so after its leaves curl they are completely puzzled.
Solution: The maximum growing temperature for this plant is 30 degrees; if it exceeds 30 degrees for a long time, its leaves will very easily curl. At this point you only need to keep the temperature at around 25 degrees, and it will return to normal within a few days.
2. Lack of sunlight
This plant must have plenty of sunlight while growing; if it stays in a place without enough sunlight for a long time, its leaves will very easily curl. In serious cases, leaf drop and similar problems can also occur.
Solution: First improve the care environment. You can choose a spot with plenty of sunlight and good ventilation to place it. After a few days, its leaves will return to normal.
3. Improper watering
In summer, if you water too little, the leaves will very easily curl; in winter, if you water too much, the leaves will easily curl as well.
Solution: In summer, water once in the morning and once in the evening every day; summer temperatures are higher and water loss is very serious, so it is very easy for the plant to lack water. In winter, however, the temperature is lower, so you should reduce watering at this time; watering about once every 10 days or so is enough. If the leaf curling is not serious, it will recover in just a few days.
