China-Japan-Korea Bonsai Culture Exchange Event

Opens in Suzhou

Authorized release by "Zhongpenhui Flowers, Bonsai and Viewing Stones"

On March 27, 2018, under the theme "Art Knows No Borders, Bonsai Connects Us All," the "2018 First Jiangsu Fine Bonsai Exhibition and China-Japan-Korea Bonsai Culture Exchange Event" opened at the Suzhou Art Museum.

This bonsai culture exchange event, involving three countries and four regions, namely Japan, South Korea, mainland China, and the Taiwan region of China, is another grand gathering following the First China-Japan Bonsai Culture Exchange Event in 2016. Bonsai masters and experts from the four regions gathered in the ancient Chinese city of Suzhou, making it a regional exchange event of the highest standard in the world of bonsai art today.

This China-Japan-Korea bonsai culture exchange will exert an exemplary and positive influence in the global bonsai field. The Flowers, Bonsai and Viewing Stones Branch of the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture and the Jiangsu Bonsai Association Alliance are jointly committed to spreading traditional Chinese bonsai culture. In the atmosphere of "Art Knows No Borders, Bonsai Connects Us All," they will play a leading role through strong-strong cooperation in learning from each other's strengths and making up for each other's shortcomings. Its practical significance and historical significance will go down in history.

We pay tribute to Mr. Zhang Xiaobao, Chairman of the Jiangsu Bonsai Association Alliance, and thank the Jiangsu Bonsai Association Alliance led by Chairman Zhang Xiaobao for its new contributions to the common prosperity of China-Japan-Korea bonsai art and to promoting the common development of world bonsai!

The "2018 First Jiangsu Fine Bonsai Exhibition and China-Japan-Korea Bonsai Culture Exchange Event" brought together fine bonsai and viewing stone works from many styles across Jiangsu, displaying more than 200 bonsai and viewing stone works in total, and selected 25 gold awards for bonsai and viewing stones, showcasing and sharing Jiangsu's bonsai and viewing stone culture with society.

This event specially invited bonsai masters from Japan, South Korea, and China to perform special bonsai creation demonstrations on the same stage. In particular, Master Masahiko Kimura, known as "Kimura Magic," led bonsai artist Seiji Morimae and his devoted apprentices in a full-process creation demonstration.

This event was attended by 150 guests from Japan, South Korea, the Taiwan region of China, and the organizer Zhongpenhui from mainland China.

This event will continue until April 1.
