Many people like to grow some flowering plants at home. Spring has now quietly arrived, and many small pests are already stirring. Once they cause an infestation, it not only ruins the plants' looks but may also directly kill the plants, which is very distressing. Below, the editor has put together several small pest-control methods, so hurry up and learn them!

Spider mites

Once a plant is infested with spider mites, its leaves will turn yellow and curl. If you do not spot it in time, it may directly kill the plant.

To kill spider mites, a single bar of soap will do. First cut the soap into a few pieces, then put the soap into hot water and melt it into a solution. Then mix the melted solution with clean water at a ratio of 1:50 and stir well, pour it into a spray bottle, and spray the plant. Be sure to spray both the front and back of the leaves, spraying about once every 5 days.

Mealybugs

Mealybugs almost always appear on the leaves of succulents, which makes the succulent leaves turn yellow and lose all vitality, and may also cause sooty mold, so mealybugs must be eliminated in time.

To deal with mealybugs, just one bottle of alcohol is enough. If there are only a few scattered mealybugs on the leaves, simply dip a cotton swab in alcohol and gently wipe the leaves. After wiping a few times, the mealybugs will basically be gone.

If there are already a lot of mealybugs, spray the alcohol directly onto the leaves. Spraying several times will not only kill the mealybugs directly but also kill their eggs. Pests on succulents are basically caused by poor ventilation, so pay attention to ventilation.

Aphids

If you have roses at home, you have probably seen them often. If you ever spot aphids, be sure to kill them in time, because their reproductive capacity is too strong, and with the slightest neglect they will cover the whole plant.

To kill aphids, you only need some plant ash. First collect the plant ash, then mix and stir it evenly with clean water at a ratio of 1:5, then pour it into a spray bottle and spray it onto the leaves. Be careful to spray both the front and back of the leaves, spraying about once every 4 days. Spraying about 3 times in a row can kill the aphids.

Snails and other mollusks

Snails can always be found on the newly sprouted tender shoots or petals of plants, so if you find snails, be sure to kill them. Do not go soft-hearted just because they are cute.

To kill mollusks, you only need some table salt. Everyone knows that mollusks have a lot of moisture in their skin, and after enough contact with salt they will dehydrate and die. Besides salt, you can also scatter eggshells on the potting soil, because eggshells are quite sharp, and mollusks will not dare to approach the plants!
