Kalanchoe, camellias and clivias: use this trick and the flowers will cascade like a waterfall

Many flower lovers ask Huahua in the comments: why has my kalanchoe been growing for years but only produces leaves and no flowers? It is not just kalanchoe - gardenias, clivias, snake plants and others run into the same problem. Today, Huahua will teach you some clever tricks to guarantee your flowers burst out of the pot every year from now on!
Kalanchoe
1. Insufficient light
Kalanchoe likes plenty of light. Some flower lovers worry that placing it on the balcony will freeze the plant, so they keep the flower indoors for a long time. A kalanchoe that lacks light will have a thin, weak body, let alone bloom.
Trick: Make sure it gets at least four hours of light every day. At the same time, so that the kalanchoe grows evenly and sets beautiful flowers, you can adjust the direction of the pot at regular intervals.
2. Improper use of fertilizer
Plenty of fertilizer is a necessary condition for kalanchoe to grow and bloom. So some flower lovers give the kalanchoe a large amount of fertilizer all at once, only to outsmart themselves. These highly concentrated nutrients are hard for the flower to absorb, and a kalanchoe cared for this way will not only fail to bloom, but will instead develop yellow leaves.
Trick: During the growing period, mainly apply nitrogen fertilizer to encourage the plant to grow strong; before flowering, apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to promote flower bud differentiation, such as fish emulsion and monopotassium phosphate.
Clivia
1. The flowering period has not arrived
It takes three to four years for a clivia to grow from a seedling to its flowering period. If your flower has not grown up yet, do not rush~
Trick: Care for it carefully and wait quietly for the flowers to bloom.
2. Insufficient sunlight
Clivia is a shade-loving plant. So some flower lovers are reluctant to let the flower see sunlight and keep it in a lightless environment for a long time. Wanting the clivia to bloom then is naturally impossible.
Trick: Plenty of light is one of the conditions for clivia to bloom. But you must note that the scorching sun of summer will harm clivia, so be sure to provide some shade protection.
3. Not changing the soil for a long time
Some flower lovers ask: my flower has been grown for four or five years, it should be blooming by now, why still not? Huahua wants to ask: think carefully - have you ever changed the soil for your clivia? Do you fertilize it regularly? If you never repot it and do not fertilize it regularly, the nutrients in the soil will become fewer and fewer, and it will be very hard for the clivia to grow healthily.
Trick: Change the soil for the clivia and add organic fertilizer to the new soil, such as peanut and sunflower seeds as a drainage layer at the bottom of the pot. Qingming Festival is coming soon, and this is a good time to repot clivias.
Christmas cactus
1. Too many hours of light
Christmas cactus likes short-day conditions. Some flower lovers keep the Christmas cactus on the balcony for a long time and do not take any shading measures. With long hours of strong light, it is very hard to get the Christmas cactus to bloom.
Trick: Place the Christmas cactus indoors and take it out at set times for light. Or cover the pot with black film to reduce exposure to strong light.
2. Unsuitable temperature
The suitable growing temperature for Christmas cactus is above 15°C, and its flowering period is from October to February of the following year. During this time, the outdoor temperature is generally low and not suitable for the Christmas cactus to form flower buds.
Trick: During this period, keep the Christmas cactus indoors, and you must make sure the indoor temperature reaches above 15°C.
Camellia
1. Not enough humidity
Camellia likes a moist, cool environment. Flower lovers in the north do not understand the habits of camellia and do not pay attention to spraying water in time to maintain the air humidity around the plant.
Trick: In winter and spring, place the camellia pot in a south-facing spot so it gets sunlight. Remember to spray the camellia with water on time to keep the air humidity around it, and after 10 a.m. is a more suitable time. In the hot summer, you need to sprinkle water on the ground around the camellia every day to raise the air humidity.
2. Unsuitable temperature
The suitable temperature during the bud stage of camellia is 10-15°C, and its full flowering period is from January to March. But in winter and spring there are often cold waves, the temperature is unstable, and too low a temperature will cause frost damage to the camellia, which is not good for flower bud formation.
Trick: During the day, place the flower in a warm spot with plenty of light; after the temperature drops in the evening, move it indoors to prevent frost damage.
Gardenia
1. Improper use of water and fertilizer
When growing gardenias, if you apply a lot of water and fertilizer, it is easy to make the plant grow only branches and leaves without blooming.
Trick: During the flower bud differentiation stage, be careful to apply more flower fertilizer rich in phosphorus and potassium
2. Light problems
Gardenia does not like strong light, but too weak sunlight will also affect the opening of gardenia flowers. Therefore, suitable light is what most favors gardenia blooming.
Trick: In summer, place the gardenia indoors to avoid strong light; in winter, place the gardenia in a place with stronger light.
