Dendrobium huoshanense not only has medicinal effects, it is also very suitable as an ingredient. Generally speaking, it can be boiled into porridge with japonica rice, made into soup with pork, cooked into a dish with river snails, and made into tea with American ginseng. It is not only delicious but also nutritious.

1. Porridge

This food requires fresh Dendrobium huoshanense, water, japonica rice and rock sugar. The preparation method is relatively simple. The amount of Dendrobium huoshanense needed is about 30 grams, and the amount of water needed is about 200 ml. Put these two together and decoct until it is reduced to 100 ml. Do not worry that the decoction time is too long, because only in this way will the effect be better.

After that, remove the decocted residue, then use about 50 grams of northern japonica rice, add a small amount of rock sugar, put them together into a clay pot, then add water, about 400 ml, and when it is cooked until thick, it can be eaten.

This kind of porridge can nourish the stomach and promote body fluid production. In addition, it also has the effects of nourishing yin and clearing heat, so people suffering from febrile diseases or those who are relatively irritable can eat it. If one is ill and the body is greatly weakened, it can also be considered, and if there is dry vomiting with little coating on the tongue, it can also be considered.

2. Soup

The ingredients needed for this are 25 grams of Dendrobium huoshanense, 30 grams of Achyranthes aspera, 500 grams of lean pork, and 3 slices of ginger. The preparation method is still relatively simple. Just first soak the Dendrobium huoshanense, then wash the Achyranthes aspera, and also wash the pork. This piece does not need to be cut, then put everything together and stew. Of course, add about 1,500 ml of cold boiled water, and the stewing time is about 3 hours. In addition, we should add some oil and salt. This much is enough for three or four people, and as for the pork, we can eat it mixed with soy sauce.

3. Snails

This requires 1,500 grams of river snails, pork spine meat and Dendrobium huoshanense, the former 9 grams and the latter 6 grams. First we need to wash them clean, then blanch the river snails until cooked, filter the soup clean for later use, take out the river snail meat and wash it clean, then cut the pork spine meat into pieces and remove the blood on it. First simmer the snail juice and Dendrobium huoshanense for about 20 minutes, remove the medicinal residue, and keep the medicinal juice. After that, pour in the medicinal juice, put the pork spine meat on top of the snail meat and stew for one hour, add some salt and it is ready to eat. This dish tastes a little sweet.

4. Tea

For this, use 5 grams of American ginseng and 3 grams of Dendrobium huoshanense, wash them clean, cut them into slices and then boil them together. After boiling over high heat, simmer over low heat for 30 minutes, then put the filtered juice into American ginseng decoction pieces and steep for 15 minutes, after which it is ready to drink.
