How often should you water a bougainvillea? A detailed guide to the correct watering method
1. Distinguish by season
Spring and autumn: The temperature and environment in these two seasons are relatively similar, and it grows very fast in these two seasons, so it needs to be watered once a day;
Summer: The temperature in this season is relatively high, and water loss is also greater, so it needs to be watered twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening, to ensure the plant has plenty of water;
Winter: This season is exactly the opposite of summer, but when growing plants, indoor care is usually chosen. In the north, where indoor temperatures are relatively high, water needs to be replenished once every 3 to 5 days, but when the care temperature is lower, once every 5 to 8 days is enough; if in the south, the time between waterings needs to be extended, and water needs to be replenished about once every 10 days.
2. Distinguish by plant condition
Before flower bud differentiation: When the flowering period is approaching, the watering interval can be extended, and watering once every 2 to 3 days is enough; but during this period, the leaves should be sprayed with water every day, 2 to 3 times a day. When watering at this time, make sure that water flows out from the bottom of the flowerpot each time, but there must never be water accumulation.
3. Precautions
On rainy days, watering can be paused; when watering, there must never be water accumulation.
When watering in summer, be sure not to do it in the sunlight, and also avoid watering at noon.
