How to water a Golden Pothos? Detailed guide to the correct watering method
1. When to water
It does not need a lot of water, but that does not mean you should not water it at all; rather, wait until the soil is dry and then water thoroughly. You can judge whether it needs water by feeling the soil. Its ability to withstand drought is actually very strong. If it is in a dry, semi-shady spot like an office, it can even be watered once every half a month. If you water it too frequently, it may very well die.
2. Amount of water
1. Moderate watering in spring
In spring it has just resumed growing, so you should not water it too much at this time; just wait until all the soil in the pot has dried out and then water. Water it once every ten days to half a month, preferably in the morning or when it is nearly dark.
2. Timely watering in summer
The hot season is when it grows fastest, and it needs a lot of water and moisture, as this is best for its growth. When watering it at this time, not only should you not let the soil in the pot dry out, but you should also keep the pot in a moist state. Normally, spray some water on the leaves more often, as this can clean the leaves while helping to create suitable humidity for it.
3. Controlled watering in autumn
After the weather turns cold in autumn, you can place it in an area with fairly good light and relatively high temperatures, and you should control the amount of watering. If it stays very wet and very cold for a long time, its leaves can easily turn yellow, and in severe cases its roots will rot, causing it to die.
4. Reduced watering in winter
In winter, when the indoor temperature is relatively low, you should control the amount of watering and temporarily stop fertilizing. When watering it in winter, it is better to let it be dry than to let it be wet; it is pausing its growth, and if you water it too much, its roots can easily rot, so that even by the next year its growth will become very slow, and it may even stop growing.
