Spring has arrived, and after eagerly longing for it, your own roses are blooming. You watch the buds every day, dreaming of them blooming beautifully, but when they finally open, they turn out this ugly. The roses have bloomed deformed flowers, and you're really torn - should you cut them off or not?

Comparison really hurts. I believe many flower lovers have encountered this situation too - roses blooming "deformed" flowers. Some flower lovers think, whether it's a deformed flower or not, at least it bloomed, so let's keep it. Other flower lovers are torn, wondering if keeping it will affect the rose's growth.

Actually, when you encounter deformed flowers, it's fine to keep them or not. Keeping them won't consume much nutrients. If you find them ugly, just cut the flowers off directly. Growing like this, you actually can't tell if it's the right variety anyway. If you don't like it, you can cut it off.

After dealing with the deformed flowers, this little gardener will analyze for you why roses blooming at the end of March turn out deformed. The first reason I think of is the previous cold wave. In mid-March, my area experienced two cold waves, each time with temperatures dropping below 10°C. At this time, the roses suffered from the cold, which caused them to become deformed.

Why does freezing cause deformation? The reason is this: low temperatures cause the gibberellin content inside the flower buds to be noticeably low, while cytokinin is noticeably high. What does this cause? It means there are many petals, very dense, but the petals are deformed.

When caring for roses, flower lovers need to pay attention to the cold wave issue. It was because I was slightly careless that my roses turned out like this. I cut them off and am waiting for the next wave of flowers. Flower lovers should learn from this!
