For balcony vegetable gardening, just choose these varieties: good-looking and tasty, with no shortage of vegetables all year round

Working from nine to five every day, day after day, you always feel that life lacks a bit of creativity and freshness. I believe this is also why many friends choose to grow flowers to spice up their lives. Coming home from work and tending to your own little plot, wandering in your own little world, you feel vitality returning to you. But after growing a lot of flowers and plants, you can get a bit tired of them. Growing a few pots of vegetables on the balcony is good-looking and tasty!
Growing vegetables on the balcony is becoming more and more popular. Potted vegetables are much easier to care for than ordinary flowers and plants, and they do not need much energy to look after. Basically, as long as you ensure sufficient light, water and fertilizer, they will grow very well. Many vegetables can also be harvested while they continue to grow, and generally you can eat many rounds from them, such as garlic chives, cilantro, lettuce and so on.
Potted mushrooms
Mushrooms generally grow on rotting wood or in damp, shady environments. In fact, it is not that troublesome in practice. We can directly buy mushroom spawn packs with mushroom substrate and nutrient material, put the spawn pack into a plastic bag or pot, then place it in a cool, shady environment and just spray water every day.
The growing environment temperature for most spawn is 20-30°C, with a moisture content of about 60%. Insufficient water will cause slow mycelial growth, while too much water easily leads to rotting. After harvesting, also promptly clean the residual mushrooms from the surface of the spawn pack, then spray water to maintain a certain humidity. Basically, just repeat this operation after each harvest.
Malabar spinach
Malabar spinach is eaten as seedlings and tender shoots, and its nutritional value is very high. When chewed, it is as crisp and refreshing as eating wood ear mushrooms. Generally, we can directly buy seeds to plant. Usually, first soak them in warm water for two or three days, which can increase the germination speed. Generally, once they show white sprouts, they can be potted for care. Usually, when they grow to a height of about 30 cm, they can be harvested for eating, leaving 2-4 strong side shoots.
Garlic chives
Garlic chives are a perennial herb. Plant once, and you can harvest continuously for many years. As long as management is proper and fertilizer is sufficient, basically you can harvest one round about every month. Eating dumplings made with garlic chives you grew yourself feels really great.
The potted vegetables above are full of creativity, can also provide us with ingredients very well, and can add a touch of greenery to the balcony. Besides the ones introduced above, there are also scallions, mint, cherry tomatoes, lettuce and so on, which are all very good balcony vegetables.
