Asparagus fern is also called cloud bamboo. Its leaves are tender green and beautiful, and its form is elegant. Keeping one pot, whether in the living room or the study, adds a lot of literary atmosphere. Some flower lovers have grown asparagus fern for seven or eight years, and it grows luxuriantly, even producing flowers. When growing asparagus fern, on the one hand it must not be exposed to strong sun, and on the other hand you must master the watering method. How should asparagus fern be watered?

1. Usually, watering should depend on the condition of the potting soil and the weather. This is the most important point. There is no need to believe in watering once every few days. If the potting soil becomes dry, it needs to be watered promptly, thoroughly at one time. If it rains for several days in a row and the air humidity is relatively high, water less.

2. During the spring and autumn growing season, keep the soil in a half-dry, half-moist state. If it is not watered for many days, the leaves will wither and fall off, and the leaf tips will turn yellow. But it also must not become waterlogged. Waterlogging easily causes root rot. In summer it must not be exposed to strong sun; place it in a semi-shaded environment.

3. When watering asparagus fern, it is best to let tap water sit for one or two days before watering. Using rainwater to water asparagus fern is also good. Be sure not to let water accumulate in the pot. In summer, water evaporates quickly, so you can water more. Usually, water thoroughly again when you see the surface of the potting soil has dried.

4. Asparagus fern likes warmth and is not cold-tolerant, that is, it is afraid of cold. When the temperature is relatively low, especially in winter, water less and control watering. Move it indoors for care and place it in a ventilated, bright place. Pay attention to keeping it warm. As long as it reaches a temperature of ten degrees, it can grow very well.

5. Do not place asparagus fern in places with smoke or dust. Change the potting soil once every two years. During the growing season, apply some decomposed organic fertilizer or a small amount of diluted compound fertilizer. You can also use some diluted, fermented rice-washing water that has been left to stand. The flower pot should be placed in a ventilated place. In winter and spring, give it appropriate light and sun.

In this way, asparagus fern will certainly grow with lush branches and leaves and look beautiful, and it will also produce pretty flowers.
