Tips for watering asparagus fern: leaves stay lushly green, and it never gets root rot or yellow leaves again

Asparagus fern, also called cloud-leaf bamboo, has tender green, beautiful leaves and an elegant form. Keep one pot, whether in the living room or the study, and it adds a lot of literary atmosphere. Some flower lovers have grown asparagus fern for seven or eight years, thriving vigorously and even producing flowers. In growing asparagus fern, on the one hand you must not expose it to harsh sun, and on the other you must get the watering method right. How do you water asparagus fern?
1. For everyday watering, base it on the condition of the potting soil and the weather; this is the most important point, and there is no need to believe in watering once every few days. If the potting soil becomes dry, water it promptly, giving a thorough watering each time; if it rains for several days in a row and the air humidity is fairly high, water less.
2. During the spring and autumn growing season, keep the soil in a half-dry, half-moist state. If you do not water for many days, the leaves will wither and drop, and the leaf tips will turn yellow. But do not let water accumulate either; standing water easily causes root rot. In summer, do not expose it to harsh sun; place it in a semi-shaded environment.
3. When watering asparagus fern, it is best to let tap water sit for one or two days before using it; watering asparagus fern with rainwater is also good. Never let water accumulate in the pot. In summer, water evaporates quickly, so you can water more. Ordinarily, water thoroughly once you see the surface of the potting soil has dried.
4. Asparagus fern likes warmth and is not cold-tolerant, meaning it fears the cold. When the temperature is relatively low, especially in winter, water less and control watering, move it indoors for care, and place it in a ventilated, bright spot. Be careful to keep it warm. As long as it reaches a temperature of 10 degrees, it can grow very well.
5. Do not place asparagus fern where there is smoke or dust. Change the potting soil once every two years, and during the growing season apply some rotted organic fertilizer or a small amount of diluted compound fertilizer. You can also use some diluted, left to sit and ferment, rice-washing water. The flowerpot should be placed in a ventilated spot. In winter and spring, give it appropriate light and sun.
In this way, the asparagus fern will certainly grow with lush branches and leaves and look beautiful, and it will also produce pretty flowers.
