How do you repot a peace lily? Correct steps and precautions
I. Repotting method
1. Choice of season
When repotting a peace lily, be sure to do it in a suitable season, because repotting it in an unsuitable season will speed up its death. The best time to repot is when winter has just arrived; during this period, both the temperature conditions and its physiological condition are very suitable for repotting, and it is not only less likely to die but can also quickly adapt to the new growing environment.
2. Method
Before starting, first prepare new potting soil and put it into the new pot. After that, take the plant out of the old pot, then place it into the new pot together with a small clump of soil wrapped around its root system, and then firm the soil down. Be very careful during the operation, and never damage the rhizome part of the peace lily; if you want to grow an extra pot, you can also divide the plant along the way.
3. Watering
Do not think that everything is done once it is planted; after that we still need to water it once. Because this watering directly affects how tightly the plant's root system combines with the new potting soil, we must water thoroughly until water flows out of the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot, and then stop adding water.
II. Precautions
If for a period after repotting it always looks listless, do not be anxious; after they adapt for a while, they will recover their former state, so growers only need to do a series of care and management tasks well during this period, and the peace lily will slowly get through this stage.
