What to Do When Anthurium Flowers Wilt? Cause Analysis and Remedies

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Anthurium flowers are bright red and shaped like a palm. Although beautiful, they wilt easily. The causes of this phenomenon are varied, so our responses must differ accordingly: if it is caused by improper watering, we should water the flowers in moderation regularly, ensuring watering about once every half a week; if it is caused by too many dead branches, we should immediately cut off the wilted parts; if it is caused by insufficient light, we should place them in a space with plenty of sunlight as much as possible; if it is caused by pests, we should remove the pests promptly.

1. Water in moderation

Improper watering will cause anthurium flowers to wilt. Many people do not know how to master the rules of watering, so it is easy to water improperly and cause wilting. To change this situation, you should water the flowers in moderation regularly. Try to ensure watering about once every half a week. If winter comes, you can water once a week. If its potting soil is not moistened in time, it has a very high chance of wilting.

2. Pay attention to pruning

Anthurium flowers require more attention to pruning. When growing them at home, if you find wilted leaves, you should immediately cut off the wilted parts. This can effectively prevent the nutrients in the flowers from being absorbed by these excess dead branches and rotten leaves, and doing so can also let the anthurium grow new branches and leaves.

3. Sufficient light

Anthurium is a flower that very much likes sunlight. If they are placed in a dark and cold place without sunlight for a long time, it is very normal for their leaves to wilt. At this time, try to place them in a space with plenty of light, but avoid direct sunlight, and let it grow in a comfortable lighting environment as much as possible.

4. Remove pests in time

There is another cause of anthurium wilting, namely pests such as cabbage caterpillars and nematodes causing damage to the anthurium. At this time, you can find a way to drive the pests away. If there are few, you can remove them and then spray insect repellent; if there are many, you can use some specialized pesticides.
