How do you turn 1 pot of succulents into 100 pots?
If you want the succulents at home to quickly go from 1 pot to 100 pots, cuttings are essential!
Steps:
1. Choose healthy succulents, especially those that have grown leggy. Use sterilized scissors to cut off the head of the leggy succulent.
2. Don't throw away the mother plant after beheading - place it in a cool, ventilated spot, and before long, new shoots will sprout again from the cut spot, and it will even turn into a multi-headed plant!
3. For the cut-off succulent head, pull the leaves off the bottom, then place the remaining part on the mouth of a plastic bottle filled with a little water, letting the lower end of the succulent just barely touch the water. It should take about 1 week to root.
4. Don't throw away the leaves you pulled off either - just prepare a loose, breathable nutrient soil and lay the leaves flat on the soil to root as cuttings.
5. For succulent leaves being propagated, it's best to keep them indoors in a spot with good indirect light. Do not water before they root, or the leaves will easily rot.
6. For those succulent leaves that only grow roots and no shoots, you can bury the rooted end of the leaf in the soil and spray water on the soil 1-2 times a week to keep it slightly moist - shoots will appear soon.
7. If a succulent leaf only grows shoots and no roots, you can dab a little rooting powder on the leaf, then bury the end that grows roots in the soil.
8. During the leaf propagation process, if you find leaves turning black, rotting or turning to mush, be sure to remove them promptly so the rot doesn't infect other healthy leaves.
9. Generally, succulent leaf cuttings first grow roots and then shoots. By the time the small shoots gradually grow bigger, the mother leaf will gradually dry up.
How do you make succulents more beautiful?
If you want succulents round and plump, everyday care is essential.
1. Light
Succulents basically all love direct sunlight. The longer a succulent receives sunlight, the more beautiful its color. So it's best to place succulents in a south-facing balcony or south-facing windowsill where sunlight lasts a long time.
2. Water control
If you want succulents to become beautiful as quickly as possible, you must pay attention to water control. Water according to the air humidity at home and how breathable the succulent's soil is. In spring, I basically water only once every 1-2 weeks.
3. Outdoor growing
Generally, succulents grown outdoors are very beautiful, because outdoor succulents get plenty of sunlight and the temperature difference between day and night is big enough. So if you have a yard, plant lovers, it's best to choose outdoor growing.
